About Stock Prism

What is Stock Prism?

Stock Prism is an AI-powered stock analysis platform that examines publicly traded companies through multiple analytical lenses. Just as a prism separates white light into its constituent colors, Stock Prism decomposes a company into clearly defined, scored dimensions — revealing aspects that a single-method analysis might miss. Our mission is to help individual investors make more informed decisions by providing structured, transparent, and multi-perspective analysis of any US-listed stock.

Why Multi-Method Analysis?

Traditional stock analysis often relies on a single approach — either purely quantitative metrics or qualitative assessments. Each method has blind spots. Stock Prism addresses this by offering multiple independent analysis methods that examine a company from fundamentally different angles. When different methods converge on the same conclusion, you can have higher confidence in the signal. When they diverge, it highlights areas that deserve deeper investigation.

Method 1: Five Factors — 五事 Framework

Inspired by the five factors (五事) from Sun Tzu's Art of War, the Five Factors method evaluates a company across five interconnected strategic dimensions. Just as a general must assess all five factors before committing to battle, an investor should understand all dimensions before committing capital.

道 Purpose — Business Purpose & Ethics

15%

Weighing 15% of the composite score, 道 Purpose evaluates a company's core mission, ethical foundation, and stakeholder alignment. It examines revenue consistency, ESG risk, customer concentration, and long-term orientation. A high Purpose score indicates a company with a clear purpose that creates sustainable value.

天 Climate — Market Environment & Timing

15%

Also weighing 15%, 天 Climate analyzes the external environment surrounding a company — market conditions, sector momentum, interest rate sensitivity, and regulatory landscape. A high Climate score means favorable tailwinds; a low score suggests headwinds that even a well-run company cannot easily overcome.

地 Terrain — Competitive Moat & Terrain

30%

At 30% weight, 地 Terrain is the most heavily weighted factor. It measures a company's competitive advantages — gross margins, operating efficiency, return on invested capital, and the strength of its economic moat. This is the financial bedrock: companies with a high Terrain score have durable competitive positions that protect profits over time.

將 Leadership — Management Quality & Leadership

25%

Weighing 25%, 將 Leadership assesses the people running the company. It examines insider ownership, capital allocation track record, management authenticity and communication quality, and whether executive incentives are aligned with shareholder interests. Great companies can falter under poor leadership; mediocre businesses can transform under exceptional management.

法 Discipline — Governance & Operational Discipline

15%

At 15% weight, 法 Discipline reviews the systems and controls that keep a company running transparently. It looks at board independence, CEO/Chair separation, share dilution trends, financial health scores (Altman Z-Score, Piotroski F-Score), and governance red flags. A high Discipline score indicates a well-governed company with sound operational discipline.

How Scoring Works

Each factor is scored from 0 to 100 based on quantitative metrics from financial data providers and qualitative analysis by AI models reading SEC filings and earnings call transcripts. Individual factor scores are combined using the weighted formula to produce a composite score. This composite score drives the recommendation: 80+ is Strong Buy, 65+ is Buy, 50+ is Watchlist, 35+ is Caution, and below 35 is Avoid. The system also calculates an intrinsic value estimate using a blended DCF and relative valuation approach.

Method 2: Bull vs Bear Debate

The Debate method takes a fundamentally different approach: instead of scoring dimensions, it stages a structured adversarial debate between a Bull (optimistic) and a Bear (pessimistic) AI agent. Over three rounds, each side presents evidence, rebuts the other's arguments, and a neutral synthesizer identifies where the truth lies.

Three Progressive Rounds

Round 1 focuses on Fundamentals and Valuation — the financial bedrock. Round 2 examines Competitive Position and Strategy — the company's sustainable advantages. Round 3 looks at Forward Outlook — future catalysts and risks. Each round builds on the previous, preventing repetition and ensuring comprehensive coverage. After all three rounds, a final verdict synthesizes the entire debate into a categorical conclusion: Clear Bull, Lean Bull, Contested, Lean Bear, or Clear Bear.

Data Sources

Stock Prism aggregates data from multiple financial data providers covering up to 5 years of financial statements, SEC filings (10-K, 8-K, DEF 14A), analyst estimates, insider trading records, ESG ratings, and real-time market data. The AI models analyze both structured numerical data and unstructured text to produce comprehensive assessments.

Real-Time Streaming

All analysis results are delivered in real time, meaning you watch each factor score arrive as it completes rather than waiting for the entire analysis to finish. This provides transparency into the analysis process and faster time-to-insight.
