Getting Started with Stock Prism
Your First Analysis in 5 Minutes
Stock Prism is designed to be simple to use while providing deep analytical insight. Whether you're an experienced investor exploring a new analytical lens or a beginner learning to evaluate stocks, this guide walks you through everything you need to get started.
Step 1 — Create Your Account
Sign up using your Google account. Stock Prism uses secure OAuth authentication — we never store your password. The sign-up process takes about 10 seconds, and you'll have immediate access to all analysis methods with a daily usage limit for free accounts.
Step 2 — Choose a Stock to Analyze
Navigate to the Analyze page and enter any US-listed stock ticker (e.g., AAPL for Apple, MSFT for Microsoft, NVDA for NVIDIA). Stock Prism supports all NYSE and NASDAQ-listed equities with sufficient public financial data. As you type, the search will suggest matching tickers.
Step 3 — Select an Analysis Method
Choose between two distinct analysis methods: Five Factors (五事) for a comprehensive weighted scoring across five strategic dimensions, or Bull vs Bear Debate for an adversarial AI argument that stress-tests the investment thesis. For your first analysis, we recommend Five Factors — it provides a clear numerical score and recommendation that's easy to interpret.
Step 4 — Watch the Real-Time Analysis
Once you start an analysis, Stock Prism streams results in real time. For Five Factors, you'll see each dimension score appear one by one, followed by the composite score, recommendation, and intrinsic value estimate. For Debate, you'll watch the Bull and Bear agents exchange arguments across three rounds before the final verdict. The entire process typically takes 1-3 minutes depending on data availability.
Step 5 — Interpret Your Results
For Five Factors: the composite score (0-100) maps to a recommendation — Strong Buy (80+), Buy (65+), Watchlist (50+), Caution (35+), or Avoid (below 35). Click into individual factors to read the detailed rationale. For Debate: read the arguments from both sides and check the final verdict (Clear Bull, Lean Bull, Contested, Lean Bear, or Clear Bear). Use the Watchlist feature to save stocks you want to track over time.
Tips for Better Analysis
Run both methods on the same stock for maximum insight — when Five Factors and Debate agree, you can have higher confidence. Use the comparison feature to analyze competitors side by side. Check back periodically, as scores update with new financial data and market conditions. Remember: Stock Prism provides analysis, not financial advice. Always combine our insights with your own research and risk assessment.
